Vancouver, BC, CANADA – January 13, 2009 – Voice Mobility International, Inc. (TSX: VMY, OTCBB: VMII and FWB: VMY), a Vancouver-based developer and provider of carrier and enterprise messaging solutions, today announced an update to its restructuring plans.
The company is well poised to take advantage of the movement in the Unified Communication and Messaging market to deliver services from the cloud or as a SaaS offering. Recent reports like the Magic Quadrant for Unified Communications as a Service, North America, published by Gartner® in December 2009 are predicting a sharp rise in the deployment of unified communications as a service. With UCaaS the service provider provides users the ability to purchase unified communications with a monthly or yearly subscription fee. This model allows for enterprise customers to minimize capital outlays which is being well received in this economic downturn.
The company will exclusively focus on its core technology, the UCN 250 which is a carrier class messaging platform designed for the hosted, managed service or large premise based deployment markets.
